History of Kodachadri
Kodachadri is a 13th highest mountain peak in Karnataka and falls in the Shivamogga district. Kodachadri Peak in the Western Ghats forms the background of the auspicious Kollur Mookambika Temple.
It is believed that thousands of years ago goddess Mookambika fought and killed the demon, Mookasura, at Kodachadri. Which is why there is a temple dedicated to the Goddess Mookambika near the Kodachadri Peak. The devotees believe that the 40-feet tall iron pillar erected in front of the temple was the trishula used by Goddess Mookambika to slay Mookasura.

We found this new resort while looking for a place to stay before heading on the Kodachadri trail. It was an awesome place with cosy and comfortable rooms. The view from our room’s balcony was just out of this world. Would love to come back here another time, just to sit on the balcony with my feet up and read a book while sipping some tea. It is close to the Mookambika temple and we heard from the staff that there is a lot more we can discover around the resort itself. Since it is a new resort, many of their facilities were still not open. We are sure to go back to Paradise Wild Hills when all their facilities are open and explore the beautiful places around.
